Blogswarm against Sulpicio Lines catastrophe

By: Sophia Lucero | July 9, 2008 | 1 Comment

Here’s another blogswarm in the Philippine blogosphere on a current events issue that practically everyone feels strongly about.

Filipino Voices urged Pinoy bloggers last July 4-5 to stop the operation of Sulpicio Lines, which was allegedly responsible for the death of hundreds in the sinking of its ship, the MV Princess of the Stars.

That doesn’t mean the swarm has ended, though. Blog entries continue to pour in and are listed in the above post. Visit FilipinoVoices.com to read up on those articles.

By: Sophia Lucero | May 5, 2008 | 2 Comments

Filipino Voices is calling on Filipino bloggers and writers from all areas to join The Philippine Issues Writing Project. It’s a contest with exciting prizes, but more importantly, it’s a venue to voice out personal opinions and insights about the country’s situation.

This is about the issues that you feel need to be written about. Whether it is in the technology sector, our economy, social justice, politics, it’s all up to you, be thoughtful and creative.

There’s a maximum of 2 entries per person, which should have been written on or later than January 1, 2008. Leave a comment on the writing project page and mention the URL(s) of your article(s) or email nick (at) tingog (dot) com. Each Friday, Filipino Voices will feature the participants of the writing project and their entries. Deadline is on June 9, 2008.
